The Dark Nights may be drawing in, but that doesn’t stop the Scouts from the 12th Scout Troop.
Our orienteering teams were all set, wrapped up warm and with a map, head torch and grid references they were ready to search out the orienteering posts we had placed around the route.
5 groups started on their trail into the night time dusk, challenged with only their trusty maps and a few grid references, they set of into the night.
Working on their route and hitting the checkpoints, all but one group got back in the allocated time.
Above all fun was had and the younger Scouts learned from the older Scouts the basics of Map Reading.
